Now, if you take what I share here with you as serious as a prescription like you would from your Doctor then it may just change your life… (Especially the third point I raise later on)

So, how do you know whether you’re suffering from stinking thinking?

 

Well, the best sign of symptoms are having thoughts such as…

 

“I’m ugly”… “I’m fat”… “I’m skinny”… “I’m broke”… “I’m always ill”…. Etc

 

Honestly the list could go on and on.

 

If you resonate & find yourself suffering from “stinking thinking” & you struggle to hold positive thoughts long enough to get rid of these rampant thoughts that leaves you mentally weak & unmotivated…

 

Here’s 3 tips to help you minimise those negative thoughts that do not serve you…

 

  1. Stop focusing on what you haven’t got in life…

 

When you focus on what you haven’t got you start to develop a dissatisfaction with where you’re at in your life.

 

You may have heard the saying, “the only thing that can grow in your life is the thing you give your energy to”

 

So in other words STOP focusing on what you do not have and start focusing on what you do have!

 

Begin your day with gratitude… even if it kills you too.

 

Be grateful for the breath that fills your lungs, the water available for you to drink & the food which is readily available for you to consume.

 

What else can you be grateful for that’s personal to you?

 

After that, start focusing on what you’d like your life to look like which leads onto…



  1. Create a vision for your life over the next 30 days, 90 days & 12 months

 

Take some time out with a pen and paper and begin to write down where you’d like to be, what you’d like to have and what you’d like to do.

 

This can include health goals, career goals, relationship goals & even income goals.

 

Ignore the stinking thinking that may chime in telling you you’re not good enough or you’ll never be able to do that.

 

Just get writing out a vision for yourself and each day alongside the gratitude you show for life, revisit your vision for the future.

 

But these alone aren’t enough to completely get rid of your stinking thinking, this final step is what you need to ensure you clear those thoughts that bring you down…

 

  1. Establish Strong Core Values & Personal Standards

 

Not having core values and standards are easily one of the top reasons people suffer from excessive amounts of stinking thinking.

 

Your core values and personal standards ensure that you please yourself before you please others which is why most people are unhappy.

 

The four key areas I’d suggest you establish your core values & standards are around the following areas…

 

> Quiet & alone time

 

We all need time for ourselves and to do what satisfies us most, even if it’s just 10-20 minutes each day. Answer the following questions to establish your core values & standards in this area of your life…

  • How much time alone do you need to enjoy yourself and your hobbies?
  • How much sleep do you need to feel refreshed and vitalised each day?



> Diet & nutrition

 

The saying goes, “you are what you eat” so begin to pay attention to what you feed yourself and when you feed yourself each day you can massively influence those negative thoughts. Answer the following questions to establish your core values & standards in this area of your life…

 

  • What foods do you need to eat to feel revitalised each day?
  • How often do you need to eat to maintain mental clarity each day?




> Movement & Exercise

 

You don’t have to be able to tie yourself in knots like a seasoned yogi, or be as fit as an Olympic runner. All your body needs is a little movement each day to help circulate fluids, decrease the pressure on your heart & combat a sedentary lifestyle.

Too much exercise can be energy sapping causing injury and conversely not enough movement can cause major problems later in life… This is why we’d love to see you come to our studio for your daily or weekly fix. Answer the following questions to establish your core values & standards in this area of your life…

 

  • What form of exercise do you find enjoyment in?
  • How often would you like to to do (Your chosen form of exercise) each week?



> Happiness

 

This is the most important one which is the catalyst for all the above & the direction your life goes.

 

You don’t have to fall into the life that was given to you when you can create a life that fills you with joy. A great life doesn’t just happen, it’s built through mindful choices directed towards a vision that makes you happy…

 

Go to the vision you wrote out and ask yourself, “why am I doing this?” in other words what’s the motive?

 

Is it for your children, is it for freedom or is it something more personal that comes to mind?

 

Either way, the reason people suffer from “stinking thinking” is simple… they do not follow these 3 simple steps and most importantly… they do not have a reason “WHY” that drives them to do so.

 

I hope these 3 tips have motivated you enough to begin taking the action needed to get rid of that stinking thinking…
